Code 42 covers activities that collect, treat, recycle or otherwise transform waste materials into secondary raw materials, energy or useful products, including the operation of material-recovery facilities, composting, waste-to-energy plants and other processes that turn discarded resources into value-added outputs. It encompasses the full chain of waste utilization, from sorting and processing to the manufacture of recycled goods.
