Child Care Workers and Teachers’ Aides

Child care workers and teachers’ aides provide care and supervision for children in schools, residential homes and child care facilities. Tasks performed usually include: assisting children individually to learn social skills; demonstrating, supervising and participating in activities that enhance the physical, social, emotional and intellectual development of children in schools and preschools; assisting in preparation of materials and equipment for children’s education and recreational activities before school, after school, during vacation and in day care centres.
