Casting of iron and steel

The ISIC Rev. 4 code 2431 covers establishments that melt iron and steel and cast them into shapes such as molds, ingots, billets, pipes, tubes and other semi-finished or finished products. Activities include primary casting, treatment of cast pieces and related finishing operations, but exclude fabrication or machining that follows casting.
