Treatment and coating of metals; machining

The ISIC Rev.4 code 2592 covers industrial activities that involve treating and coating metal products, such as heat treatment, surface finishing and protective coating, as well as machining operations that cut, shape, or finish metal parts using processes like turning, drilling, milling, grinding and similar techniques. This category excludes metalworking that is part of the manufacture of machinery, equipment or metal structures, which are classified elsewhere.
