Manufacture of vegetable and animal oils and fats

The ISIC Rev.4 code 1040 covers establishments that produce vegetable and animal oils and fats through extraction, refining and processing. Activities include crushing oilseeds, rendering animal fats, purifying, bleaching and fractionating oils, and preparing specialty fats for food, industrial or cosmetic use. The category excludes the manufacture of biodiesel and related fuel products.
