- AAgriculture, Forestry and Fishing
Code A comprises activities that produce raw agricultural products, manage forest resources and harvest fish or other aquatic life. It includes crop and horticultural cultivation, livestock breeding and raising, timber production, and commercial fishing and aquaculture operations.
- BMining and Quarrying
Code B in the Malaysia Standard Industrial Classification 2008 groups activities that involve extracting minerals and other geological resources. It includes mining of coal, metal ores, non-metallic minerals and the operation of quarries for stone, sand, gravel and related support services.

N includes enterprises that furnish a variety of support functions to other organisations, such as office administration, facilities management, employment placement, security, cleaning and waste-handling services, as well as other ancillary activities that help clients operate efficiently without being directly involved in producing goods.

Code O includes the activities of central, state and local government bodies responsible for policy making, public order, national defence, justice administration and the provision of public services such as education, health and social welfare.

The MSIC 2008 code P classifies establishments that deliver educational services at all levels, from pre-primary and primary schooling through secondary, tertiary and vocational training, including colleges, universities and other learning institutions. The R category comprises establishments engaged in producing, presenting, or supporting artistic, cultural and recreational activities. It includes performing arts venues, museums, libraries, amusement parks, sports facilities, and operators of leisure and entertainment services such as theaters, concert halls, nightclubs, and event promotion. These enterprises provide services primarily for enjoyment, cultural enrichment, and public amusement.
- SOther Service Activities
The code S in the Malaysia Standard Industrial Classification 2008 groups together service activities that are not classified elsewhere, covering a broad spectrum of personal and other miscellaneous services such as repair of personal items, rental of recreational equipment, and other support services to households and businesses.
- TActivities of Households as Employers
The code T covers economic activity where private households employ workers to provide services for the household itself. This includes hiring domestic staff such as housekeepers, nannies, caregivers, cooks or gardeners and paying them directly, rather than obtaining the services through a formal enterprise. It reflects employment arrangements that are organized and financed by the household rather than by a business entity.
- UActivities of Extraterritorial Organisations
The code U categorises activities carried out in Malaysia by extraterritorial organisations such as foreign diplomatic missions, United Nations bodies, overseas NGOs and multinational agencies that are not legally resident in the country. These entities provide consular services, international aid, research, advocacy or other functions while operating on Malaysian territory.
