- AAgriculture, Hunting, Forestry and Fishing
The A category covers primary-sector activities that produce raw natural resources. It includes the cultivation of crops and orchards, livestock and animal production, hunting and related services, forest management and logging, as well as fishing, aquaculture and the harvesting of aquatic resources.
- BMining and Quarrying
Code B comprises activities that extract minerals and geological materials from the earth, encompassing the exploration and operation of mines, quarrying of stone, sand, gravel and other non-metallic minerals, and the initial processing of extracted ores for further use.
- CManufacturing
The C category covers establishments that transform raw materials or components into finished goods through physical, chemical or mechanical processes, spanning industries such as food processing, textiles, chemicals, metalworking and machinery production. Activities include assembling, processing, finishing, packaging and related services, while excluding extraction, utilities and construction.
- DElectricity, Gas, Steam and Air Conditioning Supply
The D division comprises activities that generate, transmit and distribute electricity, manufacture and distribute gaseous fuels, produce and supply steam, and provide centralized air-conditioning services. It includes the operation of power plants, gas pipelines, district heating systems and chilled-water networks for commercial, industrial and residential customers.
- EWater Supply, Sewerage, Waste Management and Remediation
Code E encompasses the provision of water for domestic, industrial and other purposes, together with the collection, treatment and disposal of wastewater, sewage and solid waste, and services aimed at restoring or improving environmental conditions.
- FConstruction
Code F - Construction comprises establishments that build, erect, alter or demolish residential, commercial and industrial structures, as well as civil-engineering works such as roads, bridges and dams. It also covers specialized contractors providing services like electrical, plumbing, roofing, and related site preparation or finishing activities.
- GWholesale and Retail Trade
G comprises establishments that buy goods in large quantities and sell them to other businesses or to final consumers, as well as retailers that sell directly to end users through stores, stalls, online platforms or other outlets. Activities such as market-making, service-related to trade and the operation of e-commerce sites are included, while transport, storage and repair services are classified elsewhere.

Code H in the Philippine Standard Industrial Classification 2009 groups establishments that provide passenger and freight transport by road, rail, water or air, as well as related support activities such as freight forwarding, handling and storage, warehousing, and terminal operations. It also includes activities that coordinate, manage or operate transport services on behalf of others.
- IAccommodation and Food Service Activities
The I category covers establishments that provide short-term lodging such as hotels, motels, guesthouses and similar facilities, together with those that prepare and serve meals and beverages. It also includes restaurants, cafes, bars, catering services and other food-service activities that are not part of retail trade. These activities are classified under Accommodation and Food Service Activities in the 2009 Philippine Standard Industrial Classification.

The J section covers activities that produce and distribute information and enable communication, including publishing, motion picture and sound recording, broadcasting, telecommunications, data processing, web hosting, and information technology services. It also comprises activities related to the provision of internet and other electronic communication networks.
- KFinancial and Insurance Activities
The K division covers enterprises that provide financial intermediation services such as banking, credit granting, and investment activities, as well as firms engaged in insurance, reinsurance, pension fund management, and related ancillary services that manage risk and facilitate the flow of capital.

- OPublic Administration and Defence
The O category encompasses activities of central, regional and local government bodies, including policy formulation, public order, safety and national defense, as well as supporting services such as regulatory agencies and public finance. It also covers bodies that implement foreign affairs, civil protection and the administration of justice.
- PEducation
The P category of the Philippine Standard Industrial Classification 2009 groups establishments that provide educational services, ranging from pre-primary to tertiary instruction and adult or vocational training. It also covers ancillary activities such as educational support services, school administration, and related research and development. This sector aligns with the ISIC Rev. 4 "Education" class and includes both public and private providers.
- QHuman Health and Social Work Activities
The Q category covers establishments primarily engaged in providing medical, dental, nursing and other health services to individuals, as well as social work activities that promote personal and community welfare. It includes hospitals, clinics, nursing homes, outpatient care and organizations delivering social assistance, counseling and support services.

The R category covers establishments primarily engaged in creating, producing, promoting, or presenting artistic, cultural, and recreational activities, as well as facilities for sports, amusement, and leisure. It includes theaters, museums, galleries, concert halls, sports clubs, amusement parks, and providers of personal and community recreation services.
- SOther Service Activities
Other Service Activities (code S) covers establishments that provide services not classified elsewhere, including religious, civic, professional, and personal services such as funeral operations, repair of watches, personal care, and membership organizations. It also includes support activities for households and community services, as well as activities like rental of personal property and repair of personal items.
- TActivities of Households as Employers
Activities of households as employers cover the hiring of individuals to perform domestic tasks such as cleaning, cooking, childcare, gardening and other personal-service work for the household's own use. The work is performed on a non-commercial basis and the employer is a private household rather than a business entity. This class records the employment relationship and any related payroll or administrative functions within the household.
- UActivities of Extraterritorial Organisations
Code U covers the operations of organisations whose legal status and activities are governed by international agreements rather than domestic law, such as foreign diplomatic missions, United Nations agencies, and other multinational bodies. These entities provide diplomatic, humanitarian, development and other extraterritorial services while situated in the Philippines.
