- AAgriculture, Forestry and Fishing
Category A comprises primary-sector activities that produce food, raw materials and biological products, including the cultivation of crops, horticulture, livestock breeding, forest management, timber harvesting and processing, as well as commercial fishing and aquaculture operations.
- BMining and Quarrying
The B category in the Thailand Standard Industrial Classification 2009 covers activities involving the extraction of minerals and stones from the earth, such as mining of coal, metal ores, and non-metallic minerals, as well as the quarrying of stone, sand, and gravel for construction and industrial use.
- CManufacturing
Code C in the Thailand Standard Industrial Classification 2009 groups all manufacturing activities, where raw materials, intermediate products or components are transformed through physical, chemical or mechanical processes into finished goods. It includes industrial production of food, textiles, machinery, chemicals, electronics and other fabricated products for domestic use or export.
- DElectricity, Gas, Steam and Air Conditioning Supply
The D category covers activities that generate, transmit, distribute and sell electricity, natural gas, steam and hot water, as well as the provision of air-conditioning and related heating-ventilation services to residential, commercial and industrial customers. It includes the operation of power plants, gas pipelines, steam networks and central cooling systems.
- EWater Supply, Sewerage, Waste Management and Remediation
Code E covers establishments that provide water utilities such as sourcing, treating and distributing water, as well as those that collect, treat and dispose of sewage, solid waste and other refuse. It also includes activities aimed at restoring contaminated sites and managing hazardous waste to protect the environment. This sector encompasses all public-or private-run services that ensure safe water supply and effective waste remediation.
- FConstruction
The F category of the Thailand Standard Industrial Classification 2009 groups together all activities involved in constructing buildings and civil engineering works, including the installation of building components and related engineering services. It covers residential, non-residential, infrastructure projects such as roads and bridges, as well as specialized construction tasks like plumbing, electrical work, and interior finishing.
- GWholesale and Retail Trade
The G division comprises establishments that buy goods and resell them to households, businesses or institutions, either through wholesale channels such as distributors and agents or through retail outlets including shops, markets and

Sector H comprises activities that transport passengers and cargo by road, rail, water, air and pipelines and includes related services such as freight forwarding, cargo handling, warehousing and storage of goods.
- IAccommodation and Food Service Activities
Code I covers establishments providing short-term lodging such as hotels, guesthouses and similar facilities, as well as those preparing and serving meals and drinks to customers, including restaurants, cafes and catering services. Activities may be combined in a single venue or offered separately.
- JInformation and Communication
The "J" division of the Thailand Standard Industrial Classification 2009 comprises enterprises that produce, process, transmit, and distribute information and communication services. It covers activities such as publishing, broadcasting, telecommunications, internet services, data processing, and related support functions, reflecting the sector's role in generating and delivering digital content and connectivity.
- KFinancial and Insurance Activities
The K category covers establishments engaged in providing financial services such as banking, credit intermediation, leasing, money-market activities, as well as insurance, reinsurance, and ancillary insurance services, including pension fund management and related activities.
- LReal Estate Activities
Class L covers the purchase, development, construction and leasing of land and buildings, including real-estate agencies, property management and related services. It excludes activities of owners who merely hold property for personal use or investment.
- MProfessional, Scientific and Technical Activities
The code M covers activities that involve the provision of professional, scientific and technical services such as legal advice, accounting, architectural design, engineering, consulting and research.
- NAdministrative and Support Service Activities
Administrative and Support Service Activities comprise establishments that provide a range of support functions to client organizations on a contract or fee basis, such as office administration, hiring and payroll, security, cleaning, waste management, and facility management. These activities are performed without producing the client's core goods or services and are primarily aimed at improving operational efficiency across various sectors.
- OPublic Administration and Defence
The O category groups activities of central, regional and local government agencies that formulate and implement public policy, deliver public services, and maintain law and order, as well as the armed forces and other defence establishments responsible for national security.
- PEducation
Code P in the Thailand Standard Industrial Classification 2009 groups all establishments that deliver educational services, ranging from pre-primary and primary schools to secondary, tertiary and vocational training institutions, as well as adult education and other learning programs. It also covers ancillary activities such as educational support, tutoring, language schools and library services that facilitate instruction and knowledge acquisition.
- QHuman Health and Social Work Activities
The Q category covers establishments that deliver preventive, curative and rehabilitative health services to individuals and groups, such as hospitals, clinics, dental practices and specialized medical care, as well as institutions providing social assistance and welfare services, including elder-care
- RArts, Entertainment and Recreation
The R category groups establishments that create, produce, promote, or present artistic, cultural, and recreational activities. It covers performing and visual arts, museums, libraries, sports clubs, amusement and theme parks, gambling venues, and other enterprises providing entertainment or leisure services to the public.
- SOther Service Activities
Other Service Activities (code S) covers establishments that provide services not classified elsewhere, including repair of computers and personal items, rental of personal and household goods, activities of religious, political, professional, trade-union and other membership organisations, as well as funeral and other miscellaneous services.
- TActivities of Private Households as Employers
The code T covers private households that hire personnel to perform domestic services such as housekeeping, cooking, caregiving, gardening and security. It includes activities where the household itself is the employer of staff but does not involve commercial production or sale of goods and services. This classification is used to separate household-employment activities from other forms of employment in economic statistics.
- UActivities of Extraterritorial Organisations
Code U comprises activities carried out by extraterritorial organisations such as United Nations agencies, foreign diplomatic missions, international NGOs and other bodies
