Code 92 includes the organs of the Chinese Communist Party, such as central, provincial and local party committees, leading groups and affiliated administrative bodies that direct political, policy and organizational functions, and are classified separately from commercial economic activities.

Code 93 covers activities carried out by national-level institutions, including central government ministries, state-run regulatory agencies, supreme courts and prosecutorial offices, as well as national research institutes, cultural and educational bodies directly administered by the central authorities. These entities provide public services, formulate policies, enforce laws and conduct nationwide scientific, cultural or academic work as defined in the Chinese industrial classification system.

Code 94 classifies the People's Political Consultative Conference and the legally recognized democratic parties, covering their political consultation, deliberation and united-front activities. It includes meetings, research, coordination and advisory functions carried out by the CPPCC and its affiliated non-Communist parties within China's political system.

Code 95 denotes activities related to the provision and administration of social security services, encompassing the management of public and private pension, unemployment, health-insurance and other compulsory or voluntary social-welfare schemes, as well as institutions that offer social-security support and benefit distribution.

Code 96 covers entities that are not commercial enterprises but belong to collective or voluntary groups, such as mass organizations, social organizations, trade unions, professional associations, charitable foundations and other membership-based bodies that operate for social, cultural, educational, or advocacy purposes.

Code 97 categorizes entities that function across national borders, including intergovernmental bodies, United Nations agencies, regional economic unions and other supranational institutions that provide coordination, policy guidance and services to member states.
