This classification excludes firms that directly produce goods or provide non-consulting services.

Code 71 comprises firms that mainly plan, design and supervise the construction of buildings and civil-engineering works, offering technical consulting, architectural design, structural engineering, and the preparation of construction specifications and drawings.

Code 72 covers establishments that conduct systematic investigation and experimental development to expand scientific knowledge or create new products, processes, and services. Activities include both basic and applied research as well as research-and-development services provided to other firms.

Code 73 comprises establishments that develop, produce, and place advertising messages across media channels and those that carry out market research, including the design and execution of surveys, data collection, and analysis of consumer behavior. It also includes firms providing consulting services on marketing strategies, media planning, audience measurement, and related promotional activities.

Code 74 includes establishments that offer professional, scientific and technical services not classified elsewhere, such as specialized consulting, design, translation, testing, legal, accounting and other advisory activities that support businesses and individuals.

Code 75 includes establishments that provide veterinary services such as medical care, diagnosis, treatment and preventive health for domestic, farm and companion animals, as well as related research, advisory and consulting functions. Activities may be carried out in veterinary clinics, hospitals, mobile units or on-site at farms.
